Minute of Record - Meeting for Discursive Reflection (held on Thursday)
Length of time inadequate: 4-5 days rather than expected 7 (due to late Sunday start and early Saturday finish).
Problem with more than one group operating in centre at time (ie Young Friends).
Food is good and David wants a pie (eg “Four and Twenty”)!
David wants to thank Queensland RM for making it possible for him to attend AQC.
Seriously look at silent Wednesday: does not work for everybody. Suggest a community work morning. Shorter time of silence.
Food is good.
Some found silent Wednesday strange and awkward. Suggest a shorter time.
Suggestion: devote one day in week to eat according to a third world Asian country, to build appreciation of what it is like to go hungry.
Everyone is friendly and helpful in kitchen.
Cost (of AQC) is prohibitive.
Expectation was to be immersed in one main thing, rather than crowding day with three different workshops.
Expectation for calm and peaceful environment and not having to cook, clean etc.: not met, so presented a challenge.
Beautiful environment.
Presenter of sculpture workshop: Had expectation of doing four full days.
Unexpected new project came from David Carline’s posters: synergy developed as a result of being at AQC. Sees time here as an opportunity for new creative endeavour.
Internet is too slow.
Enjoying being part of things, meeting and talking to people.
Property has huge potential for future development and use, eg. orchard.
Natural environment good, good to meet people, good to exchange of ideas and learning from each other.
We are part of the beginning of a new enterprise: really appreciate this.
AQC has provided the opportunity for Abel to share his story of life and ministry in the refugee camp: our response and feedback is helpful to him. He is developing a record of photos and stories, so the record is not lost.
