George)Silver Wattle is an old grazing property on Silver Wattle Point, along the south west shore of Weereewaa, or Lake George. It is 15kms from Bungendore, 45 kms from Canberra and 80 kms from Goulburn, via the Federal Highway. The 3000 acre property is owned by the Catholic Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn, who have allowed us exclusive use of their purpose-built Retreat Centre, during September, October and November 2009.
The Retreat Centre has accommodation for 20 guests plus resident staff. It is modern, homely and comfortable, with old gardens, abundant wildlife and sweeping views of the (now dry) lake bed. We have chosen this spacious setting for an equally spacious program of courses and workshops. You will have plenty of time for private contemplation, browsing the library, bush walks and the very special experience of a learning and worshipping Quaker community.
Friends who do not wish to be course participants, may apply to join in the life of the Centre and will be welcome where there are vacancies.
The registration form and further information are available from the Registrations page.
